    Red Ogre

I know that the card has not yet been released and that any responses will be conjecture, but for an entertaining mental excercise, please consider the question

    Red Ogre

    Earth Zombie lvl 7 2800/2100

When this monster is Normal Summoned, by discarding any number of cards, return the same number of cards on the field to their owners' hand.

    Senrio:

Player B has 1 face up monster and 2 set spell/trap cards

Player A summons Red Ogre and discards 2 cards to send 2 of player B's cards back, who chooses which of player B's cards are returned to the hand - Player A or Player B?

I think it would be player A, but another player argues that it does not state who chooses, and so it could just as easily be Player B gets to choose.

    Re: Red Ogre

As this is currently an OCG card - the TCG card text will likely be reworded in order to make the effect easier to understand.

As it is written, and knowing how such text is generally interpreted once translated to the TCG - I believe the controller of "Red Ogre" chooses which card's to return.

Based on previously translated cards, if (and when) "Red Ogre" is released in the TCG, its effect will be reworded to say something to the effect of:

When this card is Normal Summoned, discard any number of cards. For each card discarded, return 1 card on the field to its owner's hand.

    Hope this helps

    Language Discrepencies are fun.

Whomever activates the effect will choose what cards get sent back.

    Re: Red Ogre

kalanijasmine's summation of an accurate rewording is a bit off the mark. The card would be closer to the following: When this card is Normal Summoned, you can send any number of cards from your hand to the Graveyard to return that number of cards on the field to their owners' hands. Note the difference between "discard" (as found in kalanijasmine's post) and "send to the Graveyard" (as found here). This difference is crucial to the conditions under which the effect may be activated. Also note that the Konami FAQ specifies that this effect is a targetting effect.

    Re: Red Ogre

Dang it.  the list of cards I hope to pull at the Crossroads sneak peek next month keeps getting longer.

And finding space in my Zombie deck gets harder and harder.

    Re: Red Ogre

Any takers on if Zombies show day 2 of SJC Chicago on 11/15 or Atlanta on 11/22?

    Re: Red Ogre

I'm willing to bet Zombies will definately make day two in Atlanta. Heck, if I had everything I needed for the deck, I'd probably run Zombies at SJC Atlanta.
