    Zombie World vs. The Selection

    Zombie World (Field Spell Card)

All monsters on the field and in any graveyard become Zombie Type monsters. Neither player can tribute summon monsters, except Zombie Type monsters.

    The Selection (Counter Trap Card)

Pay 1000 Life Points. Negate the summon of a monster that has the same type as a monster on the field, and destroy it.

    Situation (for example):

Player A controls Zombie World and a face up Zombie type monster. Player B attempts to summon a non-Zombie type monster, which would become a Zombie once it hits the field. Can Player A negate the summon with the Selection, or is the monster not considered a Zombie type until the summon is sucessful?

Thank you very much for any assistance.

Re: Zombie World vs. The Selection

    Answer:

If your Summons a Non-Zombie-Type monster while "Zombie World" is active and they control another face-up monster, "The Selection" cannot be activated because the Non-Zombie-Type monster's type is not changed to Zombie-Type until its Summon is successful, at which time the Summon can no longer be negated.
