Mind Crush v. cards sharing names.

    Consider this example.

Player A has Harpie Lady and Harpie Lady 1 in his hand. Player B has Mind Crush face down. He activates it, and calls out Harpie Lady.

    a) Are both Harpie Lady and Harpie Lady 1 destroyed?
    b) Is it valid to call Harpie Lady 1 for Mind Crush's effect?

This could also apply to Umi/A Legendary Ocean.

Re: Mind Crush v. cards sharing names.

    Answer:

    a) Both cards are destroyed, because they are both named "Harpie Lady".

"Harpie Lady 1's" name is always treated as "Harpie Lady", both during the Duel and when constructing your Deck. (This is also true of "A Legendary Ocean" and "Umi".)

    b) "Harpie Lady 1" would not a valid choice. They would need to choose a different card, like "Harpie Lady" or something else. (Not that this happens often)
